Noxious and Invasive Management Short Course Registration
The NEWSS NIVM Short Course will target public and private land managers (parks, conservancies, preserves, forests, private parcels and farms) from Maine to North Carolina who desire a better understanding of weed management. The course will stress ecologically-based plant management and include monitoring and assessment, prevention, cultural, mechanical and chemical plant management. Classroom, laboratory and field exercises will be utilized and the program will be designed to encourage interaction between instructors and students.
Registration Documents
Weed management professionals from our society will help conduct the program. To cover anticipated expenses and course training materials the course tuition will be $400.00 for a 4.0 day terrestrial short course and $150.00 for an optional 5th day aquatic short course or a discounted $500.00 for the entire event. Students will need to cover travel, lodging and some meal expenses. If interested in pre-registering for the short course, please print and fill out the Pre-Registration form (one form for Terrestrial or Aquatic) and follow the mailing instructions.
You must pre-register to participate in the course. Payment is not due until after you are pre-registered and receive registration packet. Course will fill rapidly and you should pre-register early. For information on 2008 Pesticide Credits earned for this course visit https://www.paplants.state.pa.us/PesticideApplicator/MeetingDetails.aspx. Actual Pesticide, Forestry and CCA Credits for Pennsylvania and other participating states will be announced beginning in June. It is very important to get your pre-registration form in early so that we have time to request and receive approval from the states you are certified in and for the appropriate categories.
